HOW TO CONSIGN WITH US!

APPOINTMENT - Please call and schedule and appointment at (209) 833-6232, keep in mind that we are looking seasonal items.

  1. Defect-FREE - Clothing should be in excellent condition. Items with stains holes, pilling, or signs of wear won't be accepted. Clothing must be on hangers, washed and/or dry cleaned, must be free from smoke odor and pet hair.
  2. On-Trend - Styles should be on-trend and in-season

After dropping off your items, they must stay in our possession for a minimum of 90 days before you can pick them up. There will be a $25 fee to locate your items for pick up.

If the items are sold within the 90-day period, you will receive 40% of the sale purchase price (minus taxes) for clothing and accessories. A 50-cent handling fee is added to the price of items over $10 and is paid by the buyer. After 30 days, merchandise is automatically reduced 15-50%, depending on condition, season and demand for the item (with exception of jewelry or any specific items we agree upon in writing). Out-of-season and overstock items are subject to clearance sales/or price adjustments according to market demand. You may call to check on your account anytime.  We will not call you when your items are sold. Upon your request we will put your name on our “pay-out” list when you call to check on your account (checks are issued on the 15th of each month, and must have a $20 minimum balance) or you may come in the store anytime to use your credit.  Failure to pick up your monies within 6 months after a check request shall result in all monies being forfeited. If consignor fails to contact the store owner in a 6 month period, any commission earned and remaining consigned items shall be forfeited, and become property of My Best Friend’s Closet.  

After being offered for sale for 90-days your items will be removed from the floor unless they are still in season or in demand. (Exception: formal/evening wear). Once we determine your items will not sell, they will be donated to McHenry House in Tracy, unless noted not to donate on your contract. The following exception applies: we will call you before donating any item we price over $50.00.

You must make an appointment to drop off your items. If at that time we are not able to review your items we will go through them at our earliest convenience. We will then call you to let you know which items we can’t use, and that they are available for pickup.  You must pick them up within 7 days or they will be donated.
